DJ Big Lex is an open-format DJ based in NYC with 28 years of experience. A native of Teaneck, NJ, Lex took an interest in music and technology at a very young age, often playing records from his parents' collection. Starting in elementary school, he began playing drums/percussion, which further fueled his interest in music. Inspired by 1990s mixtape culture, he started making custom cassette tapes for classmates in middle school, prior to having proper DJ equipment. After getting his first pair of turntables in high school, he continued making mixtapes, and started DJing for school parties, talent shows, and fashion shows.
Upon enrolling at Temple University in Philadelphia, DJ Big Lex hosted his own radio show on the school's radio station, WHIP 91.3 FM. He branched out to DJing parties both on and off-campus, at various clubs in Philly, and at other colleges throughout NY, NJ, and PA. After graduating in 2005, he returned to North Jersey and started getting exposure to the NYC club circuit, where he has opened for DJs such as Tony Touch, Enuff, Camilo, and Alex Sensation. He continued travelling back and forth to Philly for a weekly Thursday Latin night in the Olde City section, as well as performing for more college events there.
Lex has DJed at some legendary venues such as NYC's LQs, Copacabana, Avalon, T-NY, Blvd / Crash Mansion, Slate, Circo / Palma Verde, Lawn Club, Tavern on the Green, and Cuba Libre (both the Atlantic City & Philadelphia locations). For over 20 years, he has created memorable nights on NYC boat cruises up and down the Hudson and East Rivers, including for 4th of July and New Years' Eve.
DJ Big Lex currently spins at venues such as STK, Moxy Hotels, RA Sushi, Spin, Dos Caminos, Clinton Hall, Ainslie, Brass Monkey, and Stout in NYC, and at K Pacho and The Refuge on Long Island. He has a wide array of experience in his 28 years spinning, handling all types of functions such as corporate events, weddings, radio, college parties & events, clubs, hotel lounges & bars, restaurants, retail store grand openings, boat cruises, family reunions, class reunions + more!

Rhyze Fitness began with a shared vision between Vanessa and Melissa: to create the space they felt was missing in Sussex. Connected by a passion for movement and a desire to build a true community, they decided to join forces and build a sanctuary where rhythm meets strength. What started as a dream over coffee is now a high-energy reality where they invite everyone to Rhyze together.
Fogo Azul NYC is New York City’s boldest and most unforgettable performance group.
Founded in 2016 by Buffalo native Stacy Kovacs, this Brazilian Samba Reggae drumline was built from the ground up: local, loud, and impossible to ignore.
Stacy left the drumming franchise world to create something with real roots in New York City and real vision for the future.
We take the roots of this music seriously. Samba Reggae is Afro-Brazilian music from Bahia — and we stay connected to that source through ongoing cultural exchange with mestres, educators, and artists in Salvador. We’re not just here to play it loud — we’re here to play it right.
